Riptide partnered with Hungry Hearts Foundation on Saturday, November 9, 2019. Hungry Hearts mission is to help feed hungry school-aged children who are currently on the National School Lunch Program by providing them with supplemental food for the weekends and school holidays.
Riptide athletes braved cold, rainy conditions at our local Wal-Mart store. Athletes approached store patrons to discuss their day's mission which was focused on raising soup cans. However, athletes raised much more than just soup cans! After eight hours, Riptide raised hundreds of cans and other non-perishable foods, as well as, $700.00! Riptide athletes worked hard and near the end got a special early visit from Santa himself who began listening to early Christmas wishes! Riptide is grateful for the wonderful staff at our local Wal-Mart who made us hundreds more flyers to pass out after we ran out of our first 500! Riptide is also very grateful for our parents who volunteered to stay with the athletes throughout the day! Check out the pictures below from our food drive! Comments are closed.
