Gender Equality Act
The Washington Constitution and statutory law prohibit discrimination based on sex. In 1972, Washington voters approved the Equal Rights Amendment to the Washington Constitution. The Equal Rights Amendment provides that “equality of rights and responsibility under the law shall not be abridged on account of sex. “ Lake Stevens Riptide Select Baseball Program is often acts as a third party community athletics program receiving a lease or permit from County and City facilities for practices, games, tournaments. Therefore, is required to follow the laws set forth by House Bill ESSB 5967 The Gender Equity Act.
The Lake Stevens Riptide Select Baseball Program and all participants and volunteers attest our program does not discriminate against any person (or group) on the basis of gender in the operation, conduct, and administration of the organization's participating programs.
